Sonnet-Should I Shed My Inhibitions?

‘You’re going prettier, day by day, ‘I feel;
‘My inhibitions could fail me, ‘I fear;
For Nature donned on every fruit a peel;
Enticing one to taste; My time is near?

Oh, how I wish to wine my cortex off?
Could I then see your beauty in your walk?
Oh, how I wish to see your natural laugh;
And see your eyes rove; hear your lovely talk.

And when the spectre goes away, ’tis sad;
I cannot live in dreams always for long;
The modern world of human Beings’ mad;
And so, I strum my guitar for a song.

This earth was lovely when Adam loved Eve;
Until the Serpent went to Eve deceive.
