Oh, what a glorious man was Gandhiji!
He humbled self and slogged for country’s sake;
His heart was sad as Indians lived like slaves
In British rule, from which He had them freed.
To get the freedom for brethren was tough;
Great Britain could not bear to see them free;
They looted India’s wealth and enslaved all,
And shot some Indians, innocently held.
They tortured them and jailed them by the scores;
They harassed them in body, mind and heart;
But finally the freedom fighters won;
The war of Independence was unique!
The Father of the Nation Gandhiji
Had used non-violent methods with success;
His Non-cooperation movement was
The harbinger of freedom for Indians.
The British masters could not match his brain;
The Barrister had read a lot of laws;
The foreign rulers could not thwart his ways;
They gave the Indians freedom finally!
The brain behind the struggle was Gandhi;
His ideas were new and very strange;
With super brain, he led the freedom-war;
Without the man, we couldn’t have got freedom.
We celebrate birth anniversary
Of Mahatma, who lived and died for us;
The Savior died to bullets of Godse;
The loss left void that couldn’t be ever filled.
God blessed the nation Bharat through Gandhi;
The Indian proved his mettle to the world;
His example was followed by others;
He led the struggle to its natural end.
The freedom that he got for us was great;
We Indians ought to show our gratitude;
We ought to live in unity, not hate;
The love of Nation must be one foremost.
The love of fellowmen must be from heart;
The role of Gandhiji was so sublime;
His sacrifice for country was supreme;
We have to live and work, fulfill his dream.
