Variety is convenient
to poets who rhyme –
is perhaps created by them:
the past of ‘begin’
is both ‘began’ and ‘begun’;
‘run’ is also ‘rin’;
and ‘ran’ can be ‘rin’ and ‘run’.
If I can ‘I bade’ and ‘I bid’
I can surely ‘I bidded’.
If I can ‘I done’ and ‘I did’
what’s wrong with ‘I didded’?
