What on earth had he been thinking?
A blind date at his age?
He should have picked
A different night than Halloween
He should be home
Giving out candy
Well, anyway…here he was
Now…where was this mystery woman
Who called herself ‘Mystique’
He didn’t fancy the idea of being left alone
In a bar…
Stood up
Her email had said
‘I’ll be the one dressed in black’
Black?
You would think that
On Halloween night
She might pick a different color
That would stand out
Then he saw her
And she did stand out
Ohhh! How she stood out!
Glossy black mane
Deep brown eyes
Luscious wine red lips
And those pearly whites
And winning smile
And yes…
she was dressed in black
With a Barbie doll figure
Fishnet stockings and stilettos…
Who wore stilettos these days?
He thought most women preferred
Comfortable shoes.
Then there was that V neckline
That plunged…yea…
That was a good word…
Plunged!
As she approached him
He thought he had seen her wink
Saucy little vixen!
He thought.
‘You must be Howard…
I’m Mystique.’
They exchanged very pleasant… pleasantries
Her voice was hypnotique
He couldn’t see
What this beauty half his age
Would want with him
But, he wasn’t about to argue the point
Just accept it
Enjoy it
No remorse
No guilt…
To be continued…
