The chrysalis
Held in my hand
I feel it stir
It’s wings expand,
I feel it crawl
My fingers tight
It’s head peaks out
Despite my fight;
How could I
Contain your soul;
You break my grip,
Your wings unfold;
And then you fly
Winging free;
Up so high,
Away from me.
