He staggered out of the bar around noon
problems swirling around in his brain
like the beer in his belly, she’s going to go ballistic
when I get home, spent all the money getting pissed,
she’ll be sitting there with the kids expecting me
to be the great provider,
‘What the hell, she’s got a roof over her head ‘aint she’,
How the hell is one man supposed to provide
for all this shit anyway, He reaches the gate and stumbles
over the matted carpet lying across the path to the house,
Two kids come runing towards him ‘HI Dad’,
Trying to focus he offers them some coppers,
and looks towards the door,
like a condemed man veiwing the chamber.
