From the mountains of granite
The forests and glens
The mists on the lochs
And my wee but and ben
I ran with the stags
And I’ve fought with the clans
To stand proud and tall
Caledonian man.
I came out of nothing
My parents were poor
My father worked hard
And my mother was sure
My siblings and I
Would grasp every last strand
The beauty of life
Caledonian man.
My country is all
And my nerve never shakes
I’ll give it my best
Till my heart starts to break
Protect my existence
As far as I can
And always be here
Caledonian man.
Many have tried
And many have failed
To conquer my passion
And all it entails
But I’m a survivor
And stand man to man
With family and friends
Caledonian man.
So lift up your glasses
Let’s sing with good cheer
We won’t bow and pander
And never show fear
We’re proud as a nation
And all understand
What life has to give
Caledonian man.
