THE oakboughs of the cottagers

with the bestial evening.
The shadows of their swelled trunks

The heights lag
and perish in a blue vacuum.
And I, my lover,
skirt the cottages,
the eternal hearths and gloom,
to animate the ideal
with internal passion.
