I was walking along the riverside,
It had strong tides,
It was flowing in its own way
And carrying all the clay.
I was thinking about its winding length,
Suddenly I was astonished to see its strength;
As a small twig fell in it from the riverside tree,
Soon it was engulfed in the motion with glee.
Since time immemorial the river had been there,
And it had no fear,
Many things had gone into oblivion,
But the noted devouring river had no abolition.
