The thunder rolled, and the lighting flashed,
And two drops fell from the sky.
And one called out as the other he passed,
“A thunder storm am I.
I’ll fill the river and flood the land;
I’ll quench the fields that are dry.
I’ll soak the world and prove to man
What a mighty torrent am I.”
But he fell on a rock and for all his talk
He sizzled and the rock was dry.
As the other dropp fell he sighed to tell,
“What a tiny droplet I am.”
But he fell in a river that rushed with a shiver
Toward a generator dam.
He was carried headlong with that surging throng,
And he murmured as he swam,
“That’s an awesome task but before they ask
I’ll help them all I can.”
And for all his size, do you realize?
He helped light the world for man.
